Hello
I would like to know what causes this problem. I have a 2018 Nissan March 1.6L (motor HR16DE - automatic transmission) done about 80000 km.
Recently a strange noise has appeared when driving.
The noise increases in pitch and volume with speed (even in reverse) but is not particularly linked to engine revs and goes out when coasting downhill in neutral.
So my guess, and suggestions from others, was to change the differential bearings, but the noise has continued to be heard.
Then I need someone to help me with what they have tried so far, even better if it solved the problem.
Any suggestions?

You don't just throw parts at the problem that haven't been confirmed. Which bearings did you change? There are 6 of them in the differential if this is a rear wheel drive vehicle. It's not something sold in the US so I have no idea what it is.

It sounds like you haven't even been able to isolate what part of the vehicle the noise is coming from. You need a lot more troubleshooting before even thinking about changing any parts.

Thanks for commenting friend.
I understand that, but in fact I have already had different parts replaced twice on the recommendation of different professionals and I would not want to be taken for a fool again by another professional who does not know about it. On the first occasion, we changed a wheel bearing on the left side without no improvement. After that, another mechanic recommended me to change both differential bearings and a little less loud noise disappeared, and one month later it is coming up again but the louder noise never disappeared. Apparently, the noise is coming from the transmission area (by the way, it is front-wheel drive) and the noise is heard more clearly when you close the windows. Another characteristic of the noise is that it changes mode when you stop accelerating and also, the engine braking feels more intense than normal, as if it brakes faster without pressing the brake pedal.

If you bring it to a transmission shop they will likely recommend rebuilding the whole thing.
I'm going to move this over to the transmission category. We have a trans expert there that may have an answer for you. He's pretty busy but he'll stop in when he has time. His name is Gary username gsferraro
