98 SUNFIRE 2 DOOR MANUAL

I WAS DRIVING HOME AND NOTICED WHEN I ACCELERATE ITS NOOT TAKIN OFF LIKE IT USE 2 THEN LATER ON IN THE DAY MY CLUTCH WAS GOIN TO THE FLOOR EASILY WHEN PRESSED... SOON AFTER I JUMPED ON THE HIGH WAY AND HIT TRAFFIC SO HAD TO PUT THE CAR INTO FIRST GEAR IT WOULDNT GO CAR DIDNT STALL OR ANYTHING ... THEN I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WOULDNT GO INTO ANY GEAR ENGINE THEN STARTED SMOKING AROUND THE BATTERY AREA AND WHERE U PUT THE ENGINE COOLANT IN... WHAT IS THE PROBLEM PLEASE HELP CAR STILL STARTS BUT CANT GO INTO GEAR AND STARTS TO SMOKE SOFTLY

First things, first. Check the clutch fluid. It's probably empty, which would account for the pedal going to the floor without resistance. Sounds like a hydraulic fluid leak, possibly spraying on something hot which would account for the smoke. You may have a combination of problems, but this is a place to start. If the fluid is low, fill the reservoir and check for leaks in the line going to the slave cylinder.

there is no leak i checked

Then, it sounds like an internal clutch problem. Possible disc or pressure plate failure.

The labor to replace the clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing is 5.1 hrs per Mitchell. Does not include resurfacing the flywheel.
