2003 Ford Mustang 3.8 110,000 Hello all I have a ford mustang that was driving without an issue. I changed the transmission fluid at 60K mile without any issues. I recently decided to flush it again at 110,000 as normal maintenance. At this time I found thin metal pieces in the pan but the transmission still had no issues. I decided to remove the unit and do a rebuild as I didn't want to break down. I have disassembled the entire unit and inspected all components with a fine tooth comb. I am not able to identify were these pieces came from and Im worried I will rebuild the unit and have the same problem down the road, since I can't located it. Can someone take a look and try to help me identify the culprit. These pieces are supper thin and are about an 1/8 inch in size. Could this be coming from the torque converter as that is the only unit I can not inspect? Any help is greatly appreciated. If there is any addition information needed please let me know.

We have a trans expert that will be along eventually. His name is Gary (Gsferraro). He is the right guy to answer this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
