Jeep transmission Sign In

I had my 1996 Jeeps Transmission repaired at a shop, it cost me $1900 for the repair (rebuilt). I have only driven it aroiund 800 miles since the repair. It is having problems going into second (grinding). Is the repair shop responsable for the repair? help?

Yes, I would expect it to be covered, assuming it was done within the last year, unless they could prove that you caused it somehow through abuse or neglect.
You should have a written copy of their warranty to go by.

Re: Jeep transmission Sign In

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. The paperwork says 6months or 3000 miles. It has been over 6months because the jeep sat in the garage because I couldn't get the license plate without insurance so I had to park it until I was able to get it insured, the mileage shows that it was only driven under 800 miles since the repair. How do I get the shop to honor the warranty?

If your paperwork says 6 months warranty and your over 6 months, then you already answered your question. He's not required to do anything for you.

maree; Is this an automatic trans? Or a manual? From the cost, I'm assuming automatic. Before getting too excited, I'd suggest that you, very nicely, ask the trans. shop to take a look. Even though it is technically out of warranty, due to time, most shops would take that into consideration. Keep in mind, a customer's attitude means a lot.
