My "new to me" car is a 2008 Mercedes S550 with a 7 speed tranny and a 5.5 Litre V8 but my issue might be common to any make. I drive like an old man because that's what I am. If I start from a stop and press the pedal moderately, it shifts fine but if I barely give it gas to get moving, it will flare slightly between 1st & 2nd. For the $100K + this car sold for when it was new, I would expect not to even feel it shifting. Previously, I drove an Audi A8, a similarly priced high end car with a V8 and don't recall feeling it shift this way.

We have a trans expert (gsferraro) that will be along when he has time but it sounds like some serious internal problems. We'll see what he has to say. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Hello, I would have the car scanned for codes engine and trans and have the transmission fluid checked, there is no dipstick on this trans. Gary
