Clutch problem Sign In

I cannot put the car into reverse and cannot shift to 2nd gear when driving.I can put it into first but after that i have problems.

You have no problem with 1st gear?

No like i Can put into into first and drive in first, but when i try to shift into 2nd it cannot. When i parked and try to put it into reverse i cant

What's the year, make model and engine size?

It sounds like you make have more of a shifter or trans problem than a clutch problem. If you had a clutch issue, first gear would be impossible to get into and the higher gears would be easier.

Do i need a new transmission or is the problem less serious then that becuase theres no leaking or anything car runs fine

I couldn't tell you that from where I'm sitting. Someone is going to have to inspect it to determine any specifics.

This is exactly what happens. Car starts fine, i can put it into first gear then when i try to put it into 2nd i cant but then i can put it into third, fourth, and fifth but when i try to put it into reverse it also does not work?

I had the same problem on my talon. I had to get a new shift linkage put in.

For the talon it was like $125 for parts and a buddy put it in for like $150 cause I have never done it. That was also like 6yrs ago so I don't know what you are looking at.Sorry.
