When do I check ATF fluid, when the car is running? Or shut off? At point point on the dipstick should the fluid be, at the HOT point or the Warm point?

You should always have the engine running. Run it through the gears first while holding the brake.

The hot and cold means just that. The fluid will expand when it gets hots so the level will read higher then.

Also on yours, set the parking brake and place gear selector in neutral.
