Sign In My Mothers 99 ford taruas has about 116k on it now and I'm thinking about doing the tranny filter and fluid. Is the miles too high to change it, Or will it be fine if i do? Sign In If never done before it may cause problem or extend it's life - real hard to say as IMO tranny's life seems to depend a lot on how a car/vehicle is driven or just bad luck when they go. Truth is if filter is clogged it's toast but I do them anyway if there for whatever reason. Your call. If my own I would do it and if it blew then great I know it was waiting to go anyway.
