Hi..just replaced manual 5 speed tranny in my mustang along with the clutch and flywheel..car seems good at low rpms (although speedometer is jumping all over) but when I hit 2500 rpms it starts jerking and losing power. I pulled out the VSS and it doesnt have the plastic gear on it..The tranny was used with 88,000, but fluid was red and maintained. Hate to pull tranny back out...anyone have any advice? Did the gear break off and is lose in the transmission??? Thanks for your help.

It's not likely anything to do with the clutch itself but more like something that got disturbed in the process. Look it over real good for any ground wires left off, damaged wiring harnesses or sensors.
