It started to shift hard in 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd so I thought I need another trans. I purchased a rebuilt trans and the same things occured then it quit all together. I traded the warrenty trans in and the mechanic said that the torch converter blew apart so with another trans and torch converter installed I am back to square one with the same problem. I took my truck to a trans shop for a scan and the machanic said he couldn't find anything wrong and asked me to do a tune up. With new distributer cap, roater, plugs, wires, and fuel filter I am back to the same problems. My next question is maybe it has something to do with the computer telling it to shift at the wrong time to cause it to damage the torch converter. Any help would be appriciated thank you and GOD BLESS. The transmission is dependant on the engine as both are computer controlled. A poor running engine, for whatever reason, can affect shift points. The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) tells the trans. when to shift, assuming that the engine is running correctly. Have all trouble codes retrieved and post them for us. We can go from there. They said the transmission is fine.I have a few ideas in mind that I am going to check. I will keep in touch.Again thank you for your respone. Yesterday I replaced the shifting module and I checked the oxygen sensors to make sure they weren't clogged,catalitic converter is good.So I have no trouble lights coming on. Trans. test fine no codes.Truck runs great other than trans.It shifts hard from 1st to 2nd. Second to 3rd then to overdrive is like a shudder or stutter.I am at a lost with this.
