Does it run normal and rev up while it's in Park before you shift it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Then you have a transmission issue and you should have it looked at by a trans professional. I am moving your question to the transmission category. You may get better help there.

Check for trouble codes being stored in the engine controller. Write down the numbers. Don't think it is a transmission issue because it stays running in reverse. If the TCC was locked up, it would stall in reverse also. Probably wouldn't be an IAC issue unless the engine controller doesn't know you are putting it into drive, so it can't compensate for the load put onto the engine when the transmission engages by increasing the IAC duty cycle. Start out by checking the transmission range sensor (neutral safety switch) on the side of the transmission. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
