Can anyone out there tell me how to check the transmission fluid level on a 97' Cavalier, it has been jerking when it is put into drive. If there is anyone out there who would answer this for me? I am truly stumped on how to check it, Thank you to whomever will give me the answer....

The dipstick is probably a black ball looking thing (it may be a color) and you do have to hunt for it a bit but it's there. You'll find it on the trans I think driver's side near back (firewall side) but may be toward front, T

To Mr. Greanleaf, the transmission is an encased transmission, no dip stick anywhere, any other solutions?

This is an automatic trans?? It has a dipstick! That's where you check the level and add if needed. Look in your owner's manual and it will discuss it in length and may have a pic to show you where it is, T
