Hi,
We have a 1995 Ford F150 manual 4.9 L. The other day we were driving home down the interstate and the truck made a loud noise (kinda like the starter was engaging). We pulled off to the side of the road and didnt see anything wrong so we got back on the interstate and continued on. A ways down the road I noticed that if I took my foot off the gas the truck started to jump and do alot of shaking. When we got off on our exit, the truck down shifted fine but when I went to take off from the light the truck wouldnt move. We coasted over to the side of the road and looked up under the truck and noticed all the fluid had leaked out of the transmission. The truck will shift into every gear with ease, but it just won't move?!?! Could it be a clutch issue, transmission issue...anyone???

Unless gear oil happened to get all over the clutch, it might not be the clutch that is the problem. You'll have to remove the transmission to see what is going on inside the bell housing.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
