94 chevy 1500 auto trans

My 94 Chevy 1500 ext cab 2x4 is slow going into first and reverse. Also wont shift from 1st to 2nd unless you let off gas over 20 mph.Shift solenoid?

are you sure its not skipping the 2nd gear and going into 3rd by chance?. If not could be TPS, check TPS for smooth and linear electrical response over the entire range of motion. You will need a scope to do this. if it's bad replace the TPS.
