91 Chevy blazer 5.7L won't go in 3rd gear.

I was driving the other day and it went through 1st and 2nd but when it was suppose to go into 3rd it was like it was in neutral. I hit the gas and it just reved up. I let it down shift back into 2nd and it did it again. I changed the fluid and filter and that didn't work.

Changing the fluid when you already have a problem doesn't work. The damage is already done. After over 20 years of service this trans has given up the ghost and its time for a new one.
