Have you checked the fluid level? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Then you have some serious internal issues with the trans. You need to get it to a trans specialist for analysis.

Not a trans specialist but have some clue. The front pump needs enough pressure to allow engagement of bands and clutches. They can go weak and as Hammer said a trans place should be able to test the pressure. Near certain the advice will be to overhaul it and if a nice old car it's nice to start off with a major item out of the way. Dang - have owned a zillion vehicles and would rather when old ones that I want got this right away , enjoy knowing it's done while I have it and not just to sell it! T
