2008 ranger manual trans hard to shift

Bought 2008 ranger new in 08. 2.3 4 cyl. 5 speed manual trans 191000 miles. Original clutch, pressure plate and slave valve. Never been worked on. Most times I get in it, regardless of the weather, it is hard to shift. Doesn't want to go in to the next year. After 10-15 minutes of driving it gets easy to shift

We have a trans expert but one quick question. Has anyone checked the oil level in the trans?

Still hard when not running. Still haven't crawled under to check oil. Waiting for a youngin to do that

ok, What fluid do you have in the trans? is it gear oil?

May want to try changing the fluid first, the fact that it shifts hard with engine off will eliminate the clutch, so maybe start with a fluid change, if i remember correctly i believe they take transmission fluid. Gary
