2008 Buick Lucerne with 48K miles intermittently won't shift out of park even when on a flat, level surface. Several attempts of shutting off key, releasing brake pedal, releasing shift handle on steering column finally result in correct operation. No codes on computer. Dealer mechanic could not duplicate, but adjusted transmission interlock solenoid cable. Where is this solenoid and the adjustment located?? Can I tweak it?

Intermittent is a problem with anything. This is too new for me to have any history of troubles as described but just now on another GM product tried a test for a column shift key on column type shifter lock. Trick to defeat was on some if not most is to turn key partly towards run position and even without sensing brake lights or foot on brake did allow shifter to move!

That's not a fix but a way to get going. That lurks with one of my own and no freaking clue why it stayed in Park now a few years ago just once was enough. I think the thing was afraid I resort to a brick thru windshield and has behaved since,
