2006 honda accord ex/ 4 cyl. Trans problem Sign In

My transmission indicator light is on and speeometer doesn't work properly. I checked the fluid it is low. My husband says, low fluid won't cause slippage. I'm afraid my transmission might be shot. Could it ba a sensor?

The transmission needs to be full be for doing any diagnosing. Low fluid can cause slippage but won't cause the speedo not to work.

Sounds like there may be a few things going on. Fill the trans with the correct fluid (I'm away from my data base but the parts store should be able to tell you the correct type) and see if that helps the slipping problem, you may want to take it in for the other issues........

It sounds like the vehicle speed sensor circuit is at fault. If that's the case, then yes, the car will have shifting problems. The PCM needs this signal to control shift points and torque converter clutch lockup, and cruise control functions. Without this signal, many driveability problems can exist.
