I just want to thank "aokrongly" for the information on his 2002 Ford Focus Tranny problems.
It sounded exactly like the problem my daughter 2003 Ford Focus started having a few weeks ago.
I called a "trusted" Transmission shop that I have used before and they thought it was a $500 fix or a full Tranny fix. big bucks-- So I googled for help and got this web site and read the user above's problems and fix. EVERYTHING he has on this page was exactly right. The tranny shop wanted $45 bucks to check the tranny and Auto zone did it for free. We followed this fix and for $70 bucks the Focus is running great. Thanks again for saving us mega bucks.
