2002 ford taurus ses 3.0 dohc transmission trouble

I have a 2002 ford taurus ses 3.0 dohc. My engine broke a valve spring at 180,000 miles with no transmission troubles. I put a new motor in but did not remove the transmission I only disconnected the fly wheel from the torque converter and reconnected it upon installation. I also disconnected and reconnected all the wires. I replaced all struts and springs too. Car started and ran great I put it in reverse got a rubbing noise but it didn't move I put it in drive and it made a rubbing noise but wouldn't move. You can hear the torque convertor spinning and you have to shut the car down to put it in park or it will click. You can also put the car in any gear including park. I checked all wires they are hooked there are no lights on or reading and I checked the fluid which is full please help.

You might want to check both axles and make sure they didn't come apart or pull out of the transmission.

You can verify that by jacking up one wheel while the car is in park (parking brake applied for safety) and see if you can turn that wheel by hand. You shouldn't be able to.

You can push the car while it is in park on the ground it's like it always in neutral.

That's a pretty strong indication of an axle problem.

You can turn the wheel by hand while the other is on the ground, how do you reinstall the axle into the transmission?

First you have to determine which one either isn't seated or is damaged. If it isn't seated you will have to remove it from the knuckle and drive it back in until it locks.

The passenger side outer cv joint had came off I put it back on replaced the boot transmission is back to normal operation again, thank you
