I wrote awhile ago about a noise in the tailshaft area of the trans. Never did figure it out, but trans worked fine, so I left it alone. Now I have a problem when I shift from park to drive. It doesn't move right away. It may take 5,10,15 seconds to engage. If I shift into 1st gear it seems to engage quicker, then I shift to drive and all is well. No problem going right into reverse, or shifting in forward gears after it engages. Never had a problem until I changed the fluid and filter last fall. Anybody got any ideas?

jen; Of course, the first thing to do would be to check fluid level with the engine at normal operating temperature and idling in Neutral or Park. If it's okay, could be a solenoid problem. Find a reputable transmission shop..(stay away from the 'chain stores'). Ask friends, enemies, relatives, BBB, ect. for a referral.
