2001 GMC Sonoma, transmission feels like it's slipping Sign In

2.2 Liter, 5 speed automatic, 84,000 miles. When I put it in drive or reverse and step on the gas the engine revs, 3,000+ rpm, but the truck barely moves. The engine doesn't sound like it's encountering resistance. After it warms up a few minutes it moves a little better. When I put it in gear I don't feel or hear the bump/jolt that I normally do when putting an automatic transmission into gear. It has been driving fine and I didn't notice anything abnormal untill a couple of days ago; this was a sudden occurrence not something that gradually got worse. The transmission fluid is full and I haven't needed to add any.

Regards,
Jim

You definitely have some transmission issues. I suggest you get it to a trans shop for inspection quick before more damage is done.
