2000 lincoln ls trans light..	Sign In

I bought a 2000 lincoln ls about a month ago, it has been in the shop since. I test drove the car and it seemed ok but on the way home the check trans light came on and where the gear indicator is came up with an 'E''. I took it to the dealer ship and they cleaned up some of the wireing since the car had an engine swap from a v6 to a v8. once they cleaned up some of the wireing they were able to get some codes from the computer.0795 i think and some others. they said it could be a number of things. They realy didn;t seem to want to work on it. I took it to Mr. Transsmision and they said it neeeded a rebuild, 2700 dollars, fine fix it. They rebuilt the trans and replaced the solinoid pack. it is still doing the same thing. drivesfine for about 10 mins then the check trans light comes on and doesn't want to shift into 4 5 gears. I told them i am not paying a dime untill it is fixed.\
Any sugestions??????????????

They probably don't want to deal with it because it had been converted. P0795 means the PCM saw that PCC ( Pressure control solenoid C) circuit had shorted to ground or power. Someone needs to scope that circuit and see if the circuit shorts. Obviously, Mr. Transmission didn't diagnose the problem correctly because normally a circuit code isn't cause for a rebuild. You also need to find out what other codes are being set.

There are three pressure control solenoids on the valve body. Make sure C and its circuit is the one they are checking out. They need to connect the scope lead up at the PCM to check the circuit.
