My car is a 2000 Ford Taurus SES 3.0L Sedan with an automatic transmission. I was sitting at a red light the other day and pressed on the gas to go when I heard what seemed to be something metal broke and my car would not move. It was running but would not move in drive, overdrive, reverse etc. I had no previous warnings and only have 59,000 miles on my car. I want to take it in for repair but am afraid I will be taken advantage of. Does anyone know of what this could possibly be? I would appreciate any advice.

pharris510; Only a couple of things come to mind. Broken CV joint or a transmission problem. Have you checked the fluid level? The CV joint won't be terribly expensive, but the trans. will be. If it turns out to be the trans, check with friends, enemies, BBB, ect. to find a reputable trans. shop. (IMHO, I'd stay away from the 'chains'). Loren SW Washington
