When you turn the ignition to run do all indicators flash and then returns to current gear on the control switch panel?

If I'm understanding your question correctly, no, none of them flash at all. As of this morning, no lights come on at all, not even the 4 low light. Thanks so much for any help you can give.

The transfer case control mode (TCCM) does a self test when you turn the ignition to the run position by flashing all the indicator lights.

If you don't have any lights, you need to do some voltage testing at the TCCM to be sure it is getting the proper voltages and grounds. If it is and you still don't have it self testing, it is possible the TCCM is the fault. You could still have problem with the control switch, but you would have to check the circuits to it to be sure it has power and grounds and is getting signals from the TCCM using a volt meter and wiring diagram.

Does this have a two speed selectable (NVG 233-NP1) or two speed automatic transfer case(NVG 236/246-NP8)?

You can try to see if you can pull diagnostic codes from the TCCM by jumping terminal 13 to terminal 4 or 5 of the OBD2 diagnostic connector to ground. The TCCM will flash out the codes using the transfer case switch control lamps with the ignition to run if you have the NP1 transfer case.

Jump 13 to 4 or 5 if NP1.

If it has an NP8 transfer case, don't jump the connector. You'll need a high end scan tool to access the TCCM to retrieve codes and look at data parameters.

To find out if you have an NP1 or NP8 transfer case look in the glove box for a sticker with a bunch of letters and numbers on it in alphabetical/numerical order. That will tell you which transfer case you have.

I SHOULD LET YOU KNOW THAT I AM WITHOUT AN OWNERS MANUAL, SORRY. THOUGHT FOR SOME REASON IT WAS A RELATIVELY EASY FIX. I DID FIND WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM THOUGH AND IT IS THE THE BOX BEHIND THE PASSENGER SIDE KICK PANEL. IT'S CORRODED AND HAS A BROKEN WIRE. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS HERE? CLEAN THE CORROSION AND ALL CONTACTS? ASIDE FROM THIS, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR SUGGESTION? I APPRECIATE.

Fixing the obvious would be a good idea. You could try cleaning it up and repairing the wiring. Make sure you disconnect the battery.

Re: 2000 CHEVY BLAZER STUCK IN 4 LOW Sign In

excellent, it came of out 4lo and is in 2hi now but "service 4wd" dash light stays illuminated. any suggestions for what else to check so light goes off? now when i test the 4wd, it won't stay in 4wd. the light blinks about 5 times and goes right back into 2hi. is the "service 4wd" light being illuminated the reason why? thanks again.
