I have a 1995 Ford Taurus. My friend let me borrow it for school so it was not being driven around for about 2 years. I got the oil changed and it worked perfectly. I noticed that the antifreeze started leaking and I had to keep filling up the coolant reservoir once a week so that the car would run normally. The cap on the reservoir container does not tightly seal it. Just recently I haven't been able to drive it because I will put the car into first gear and it sounds like the engine is not getting enough fuel fast enough. It sounds like it is just about to die, but when i push the clutch back in, the car revs back up. I was told to change the fuel filter, but when I went into the mechanic he told me he would not just change the fuel filter. He told me he would have to check the entire car. I would like to get a little more information if anybody has any so these mechanics do not take advantage of the fact that I know nothing about cars. Any kind of advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you!

You might want to have the mechanic check out the car and diagnose the problem. Give him/her a chance. Not all mechanics are out there to get the customer. You are the deciding factor if things should be done or not after they give you an estimate for repair. If you question something they recommend get a second opinion or ask us what we think about it.

You really need to solve the coolant leak problem because that is going to get you into a lot of trouble, if not already.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
