1995 Chrysler 3.5L LHS won't shift into 3rd gear

I've a 1995 Chrysler LHS 3.5L that won't shift into 3rd gear once in a while. After setting for several months it now won't shift to 3rd gear at all.

I'd have to check to see what kind of solenoid pack this uses but that could be a problem area... The basics do need to be checked 1st though. Making sure the fluid is full and clean.
If it's dark or burnt then it may be too late but a service should be tried. Keeping in mind this could cause the transmission to completely fail. If you aren't in a position to repair it, maybe wait until you are before trying any servicing..........
