I have a 94 camaro v6 with the 4l60e transmission. my transmission used to slip in first and second gear and made a lot of noise(a scraping noise) when taking off from a stop and also when shifting from first to second and a whole lot of vibrating when shifting from second to third. i replaced the fluid and filter in hopes that it would fix it but it didnt. i assumed i needed a new transmission so i continued to drive it until it goes. today i tried to take off in D as usual and the transmission gave out.i thought my transmission was done, but now it takes off just fine aslong as i shift it manually from 1st to second; its flawless like if i have no transmission problems. however, the car will not take off in D and it slips briefly when i shift from 2nd to third and slips even more when i shift from 3rd to fourth; but nowhere close to as bad as it did before today. does anybody know what the hell is going on with my transmission? do i need a new one?

You will need a rebuild or replacment.. When you take off in D your using the forward clutch. When you take off in 1 your using the low/reverse clutch. more then likely your forward clutch is done.
