1994 FORD EXPLORER 4 spd auto trans

hey all. 1994 FORD EXPLODER, The V-6 eng. lots & lots & lots of miles! This is the 3rd trany... This was a low mile unit (under 50k) Trany operated perfect till... Put in 4 WD to pull small utility trailer outta dump area, hubs were "POPPING" while pulling it out(several times). Yeah the drive train was experienceing some SHOCK. Vehicle operated perfectly for a couple days. Pulled up to a stop light and thats where it quit. Tried to accelerate and it wouldn't move. When stepping on the gas, it kinda "Surge's" foreward, like it wants to go but... Same in reverse. It didn't make any noise when it "died". I can hear the trany spinning as I gas it up. Acts like a "pin" sheared on a shaft. Is there a PIN on a shaft? Wish I had the trany book.
