1991 jeep cherokee laredo transmission

I am having problems with my 1991 jeep cherokee laredo. The engine size is a 4.0 with a straight 6. The problem that I am having is each time I go to put the jeep in drive it atomatically shifts into third gear, so I have to shift from first to second then to drive and the over drive will not come on. I have tried trans-x, lubeguard red, and lucas oil. Then yesterday I was looking at the transmission and found on the side of the transmission that there is a hook up for four vacuum lines and only one vacuum line will work even in all gears and in four wheel drive. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
