Hi please help , (automatic) when my car first stated acting up it would jerk going down the road, I blamed it on water in my gas.
Sometimes it would run a week or two and not do it again.
Then it started, (please remember I am a female so I don`t know all the technical terms) it would shift to first, go into next gear and like it
would kick back out like in a limp mode. I would pull over let it set a few, start it back up and it would run fine. May not do it again for
a few days. Now it is doing it all the time , shuting it off doesnt help at all. Does anyone have a clue why it would be doing this?
I thought it may be in shifter but we worked on that and now when I go from park, nuetral, drive, (it does these) but if I pull it to the other
to gears on the right it locks in them and then we have to reline it up. I cried, and prayed over it and that didn`t help either LOL
I have heart trouble and my husband is really bad sick, someone please give me some ideas please..I really need my car.

Angel; I may have not understood your earlier post. When you are driving, the trans will act like it goes into neutral when it should be going into 3rd gear? I'm assuming that you've checked the fluid level. Sounds like an internal trans. fault. When you mention pulling the shifter to the right....If a column mounted shifter, you would pull it down going from park to R, then N, then D. If a console mounted shifter, you would pull it back going from park to R, then N, then D. Which do you have? Not that it really matters. If you try driving it, starting in 1, then manually move it to 2, then manually move it to D (once at speed) does it seem to shift thru the gears okay?
I hate to even suggest this, but FWD Chrysler transmissions are not the strongest. (Hey, don't feel bad, we own a FWD Dodge, also).

yes that is what it does, it goes in first and then lt trys to shift to second but goes like in neutral then you kinda wiggle the shifter a little and it will go on into next gear but will not go on to the next gear ever now. (sorry it is hard for a lady to explain some things)

hi, took and had car put on a machine. It came up with a code 39 gear ratio error.. anyone know exactly what this is?
