I just purchased this beautiful car in excellent condition and drove away. After about 200 miles, I began feeling just the slightest bit of a pull when going between 38-40 mph. Is this a transmission thing? What should I do? I've had nothing but unreliable vehicles and I really thought I picked a winner this time. I actually thought this little tug was normal when driving an automatic but friends assure me it's not. Ideas? Scoldings? Do I need a man? Like Really? Cindy in Silverton via the Oregon Coast

Cindy; Howdy, neighbor. The first thing I'd check would be the fuel filter. Could be clogged, causing a lean condition. Second, try driving in the D without the circle around it. (The D with the circle is Over Drive). I'm assuming that there is no check engine light on? Also, when you turn the key to the ON position, does the check engine light come on? It should. Then, go off after the engine starts? Loren SW Washington

Here's a cup of coffee for you Loren. It's the overdrive! I had been told to just always leave OD on. Now I see that it should only be used in highway driving and non-hilly situations. City driving is almost always below 35-40 so going back and forth from one gear to another is a waste. So simple. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. cb Cindy in Silverton via the Oregon Coast
