1967 Impala three speed gear alignment?

When Shifting from third down to second the steering column rotated up and now I am able to shift all gears but they are 30 degrees above where they should be. The Impala is a three speed on the steering column. I can not seem to find what is wrong with the column or how to fix it. Thanks

After a complete visual inspection of column,broken shift bowl may cause this problem.you should not have to remove column to replace this part although in dis assembling whole unit you may find other worn parts
