I have a 2004 chevy blazer 4x4 4.3 with only 60k. Until yesterday it worked great. I came off a highway came to a stop sign and then it wouldnt move in any gear. I immediately checked the fluid aand it was full and clean, no burnt smell. I started it and it went into gear nicely and drove away. After a few hundred feet it did it again. Every time i shut it off and restart it does the same thing. It goes into all gears with no slippage at all for a few hundred feet. Any ideas other than a rebuild? Help..............................

lol, thanks for the reply, however i would have to trade it in to myself. I was just thinking it could be the pump. I find it strange that by shutting it off and restarting the tranny works fine for a few minutes.

Sure, it could be the pump but how is that just a minor problem and why would the pump be the only thing damaged? Your getting severe blowby and slippage in there and that is never a minor problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I would expect you would get a more accurate diagnosis and examination before concluding anything. There's always the possibility that the problem is electronic although you never mentioned any warning lights.

No lights at all and the trany worked great until this happened, no warning at all. Thats why i was hoping it may be electronic, ive never seen one act like this one. I have a gm mechanic friend who is going to scan it and check it out for me. I will let you know how i make out. Thanks.
