`99 Olds Bravada-lost 3rd gear Sign In

I have lost 3rd gear in my `99 Olds Bravada 4x4. I know, rebuild or replace. It just seems weird to me, everything else is just fine, simply lost 3rd while driving my wife to work. Drove it home. Siphoned out 2 quarts of tranny fluid, added 2 quarts of Lucas, still no 3rd gear. I bet I'm screwed. 4L60E transmission.

Yea, it doesn't sound good. I would have the codes pulled to make sure there isn't anything electrical going on in the tranny...

I figured what the heck, what do I have to lose at this point? So yeah, I tried it. If you were trying to survive on disability like I am, & almost broke, you'd try any cheap fix you could think of, too!

Why do you think I posted on here to begin with? Smart alek answers I can get elsewhere-more clever ones, too.

Sorry `bout that. I was just stressed out, and "that didn't work?.....amazing" was NOT the answer I was hoping for. That's a poor excuse for my showing my @$$, but it's all I got.

My response was uncalled for. My apologies. If I'd been in a better mood, I'd have found it funny myself.

What did you expect? That's like cutting your leg off and telling your doctor you took 3 dozen aspirin but it didn't work, what should I do now?.

You already know it has serious internal damage and needs to be looked at by a professional. I realize you may have money issues but the truck doesn't know that.

Yep, you're right. Hey, it was worth a shot. Sorry if I acted surly about it.
