silverado defrost stuck

1999 chevy silverado 2500 4x4 6.0 with 104000 miles will not change a/c or heat air flow from defrost . I have replaced the actuator motor and the control knob worked in another truck. What is the next move?

I've been wrong before - maybe once -LOL but the control actuator is over the gas pedal on this with two rods to change selection of air flow outlets,
