A MONTH AGO I HAD TO GET THE COMPRESSOR REPLACED. NOW no heat. It has been flushed. Is there a fuse that could control it? The water heats but I don'!

A little more information please. Does the fan blow air when it is turned on? If no, there is a fuse that controls the fan motor. It will show which one in the owners manual. If no woners manual, click here. If the fan works, you need to see if the blend door is working. It is electrically controlled and the actuator is under the dash just to the right of center.

Yes, the fan blows air. My grandson left the manual in the garage and I'll try to find it later. Thank you I'll let you know if it works.

Also check to be sure the coolant is filled to specifications. Could also be a problem with the thermostat or blockage in the heater core.

I'm a 71 yr. old female. My husband died 2 yrs. ago. He could fix anything and sometimes I helped. I didn't ask questions, just did what he said. My son-in-law flushed the radiator and
replaced the button under the dash or beside....whereever and whatever it was. He says its not the thermostat because the
water heats but doesn't overheat. My grandson says it is. I
haven't a clue. Thanks for your input.

Thank you! Where is this located or should I find a fix-it manual? I haven't found the owner's manual. I wear a coat and have one over my legs when driving in cold temps.Unsure

A heater control valve should be (if used) in the inlet hose (smaller of two usually) going to the heater core. Generic or perhaps specific pics/diagrams are available if you search out the valve at AutoZone or others,

Re: no heat in 2001 taurus Sign In

Again, your vehicle uses a blend door actuator to control the heat or coolness dependant upon settings you choose. You may want your grandson to check it for you. It is located under the dash just to the right of center. He can asscee it from up under the passenger side to check it. There is a wiring connector and 4 little screws that hold it in place. If he is looking at it or has his hand on it, turn ther ignition to the 'ON' position. Do not start car. Then move the temperature selector from cold to warm and back to cold. He should be able to hear the motor working or feel it working. If not sure, have him remove the motor and work the blend door lever by hand. If heat comes out then, replace the actuator. If no heat comes out, either plugged heater core or or broken blend door inside the heater plenum box.

Here is a diagram of the actuator with the mounting screws pointed out. It may be easier for the grandson to remove the lower portion of the dash to get more access. There is a small metal bracket thet protects the linkage that also needs to be removed. 1 is the electrical plug---2 is the little mounting screws----3 is the actuator.
