MY 96 Ford explorer ac was leaking coolant, I had to replace the evaporator but ever since the AC does not blow as cold as before the repair, just cool not cold, no matter what time of day, obvious cooler when over cast but never cold. My mechanic evacuated the system to make sure all air was out etc but seems no different, any ideas what else to check

If you stick a thermometer in the center vent, switch to "max A/C" and high blower, see what the lowest temp is after the system stabilizes.
