Its at the inlet of the evaporator core but can be accessed from the engine compartment.

Comvav guy: just suck it down to full long held vacuum and fill it to specs. This crap isn't for everyone and takes mega bucks of equipment but I don't work nor endrose the EPA so do what you want,

YUP, recessed inside the firewall and surrounded by a huge block of foam rubber - a real witch (I might have misspelled that word) to get out. And then putting the new one back in...words not suitable for prime time carjunky.

But the lady has cold air now and she's all smiles.

The old compressor done blowed up, so there warn't no freon to lose. I replaced the compressor with a new one -Saturn parts is hard to find and EXPENSIVE - and replaced the expansion valve and vacuumed it for 30 minutes and it held for another 30. Re-charged and the lady is happpppy and cool.
