If it's really pouring out there will be anti-freeze all over the place. If slower the leak may leave a visable trail to exactly what is leaking. Water pumps have a vent hole and if you can put your finger right on it an get anti-freeze that's probably it. The water pump is more common than the timing cover for leaking but anything that contains anti-freeze could leak. If still tricky, try a dental type mirror and even pressurize the system a little and see the leak if at all possible without guessing so you are not right back there again. Hoses, timing cover or the hose spuds, gaskets are possible and so is a crack in the block but that more common if you have frozen the engine or overheated. Surprize cracks have been uncommon to me, T
