I actually haven't had the pleasure of doing this particular one. It only calls for 3.9 so it doesn't look to be as bad as most... My database was a little vague on this one..... Looks like you just need to remove the lower instrutment panel to get the box out and of course evac the system.... I don't envy you CH..... I hate doing heater cores.................

I agree with Sidom. The instructions are very vague. You do have to pull the dash first and then the HVAC housing. Here are the dash instructions first. Here is all it has to say about the actual change. REMOVAL - Remove the heater-A/C housing. Refer to: "Housing Assembly HVAC : Service and Repair"
- Place the unit on a work bench and remove the housing top cover.
- Remove the attaching screw from the heater core retaining bracket and lift the heater core from the housing.
INSTALLATION - Position the heater core in the heater-A/C housing.
- Install and tighten the attaching screw to the heater core retaining bracket.
- Install the housing top cover.
- Install the heater-A/C housing. Refer to: "Housing Assembly HVAC : Service and Repair"

CH - glad you posted that here. Seems that about the best info you are going to get. One thing not mentioned is if A/C needs to be drained of refrigerant to do this?? Does the A/C even work in this? If involved it wasn't mentioned by info Sidom or Hammer had and 3.9 hours suggests it's not. Hope not. If you need help with that you have my personal email and could easily walk you thru that if not your thing. I don't envy the job but seems doable without too much foul language! Good luck with it. I trust we are all here to help as best we can. Kitty can't help and doesn't G.A.S. as long as she can leave cat hair on things I forgot I even had! Tom

AC hase'nt worked for years so I suspect all will be ok there. Don't have it here yet but will see if taking the seat out will provide more access. Regardless, there WILL be swearing involved- along with a few beers. Right after the race. Only the 20'th lap.

Many in this area wouldn't fix A/C as a vehicle gets older. It could still be full and not working. Just be careful as that crap can freeze burn skin right off, Tom
