I have a 2002 ford crown vic. I think it is a 4.6 engine. The milage is under 60,000. The blower for the heat/ac is not working. I had the fuse and was told it is ok. Is there any other thing I can check other than bring it to a dealer. I would like that to be the last thing to do. I live on S.S. and try to watch my money very carefully. I have been taken once a couple of years ago on another car and truly believe it was because I am an old lady.

What you need to do is test the motor itself. You can use jumper wires to jump power and ground directly to it or you can use a testlight to test for power and ground. This is assuming that you are actually able to repair whatever the problem turns out to be. If your not physically able to change say a blower motor, then there is no point in trying to diagnose it because the people doing the repairing will want to do that themselves anyway.

justme; Talk to your friends, enemies, relatives (some of them may be enemies), and the Better Business Bureau. Find a shop (doesn't have to be a dealer) that they trust and give them a try. I truly believe that there are more honest techs out there than 'bad' ones. Due to the complexity of automobiles now, most of the bad guys are gone, or at least, going away. If you get a diagnosis that is questionable, feel free to come back and ask any questions. Thanks for visiting.
