I need to clamp off the hoses to my car so i can drive it to the shop and would just like to know how and how difficult its going to be to do it.
The heater core on it now is blown and doesn't hold any fluid, so the mechanic told me to just clamp the hoses off and i would be good to go.

I haven't tried to fix it yet but would like to know how i could temporarily fix it.

Please and thank you's in advance

Better not to clamp it off but to connect the inlet and outlet hoses together. Most cars use a smaller inlet than outlet. You may want a barbed elbow from a hardware store or in a jam I've use a deep socket wrench that fit and lucky had the two different sized but not barbed of course.

You may need the right angle or a "U" pipe creation to do this.

Reason for not just clamping or plugging them and I don't know every layout is that some engines are using the heater for the by-pass system or part of it which maintains even temps of engine coolant front to back or side to side as applicable. If it's that design it would be hazardous to the engine to stop the flow entirely as it could get hot spots unseen by a temp gauge,
