I have a 1991 Mazda Protege, the blower did not work at all, replaced the motor, still no go, replaced the resistor, now it only works on high, but when I turn it to the high setting, the a/c light goes out and the car spits and sputters, cut it off and runs normal. Can anyone help?

Guesses: Aftermarket stuff tapped into wires now gone bad like stereo stuff or if it can blow cold and quite compressor it could be way overworking the engine - not real sure what to suggest but one guess is new resistor blew already!
Does compressor ever engage? Try disconnecting it at the compressor to see if the stumbling stops.
This is a tough one to diagnose from here. A history as you know it could help us help you,
