2006 jeep grand cherokee v6 3.7 137k my ac stopped blowing cold. so i brought it to a shop where i was told it was my evap valve. so i replaced it while i did that i also replaced the accumulator. i tried to recharge the system it wouldn't take a charge the clutch wasn't working so i replaced the compressor and clutch used the correct amount of oil. Now when i recharge the system it cycles on and off like low freon but as soon as the air starts to cool off the compressor locks up.turn the ac button off everythings fine as soon as u turn it back on its locks up again. If i let some of the pressure out it wont lock up. any body that could help will be much appreciated. thanks in advance

This is exactly how AC systems get destroyed. AC repair is not a DIY project and requires considerable knowledge to recognize issues as they occur. You used the correct amount of oil? How do you know that? How do you know how much oil was in the system already? How do you know you even had a problem with the compressor? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

A/C is NOT some DIY game. Over do the charge it will squeal the belt and probably cost you tons now. FAIL! T (edit - you don't have an X valve and an accumulator. Quit touching this before you hurt yourself!)

first off i replaced the expansion valve and dryer. sorry i miss lead you. But i replaced those after an ac certified shop tried to charge it and told me he tested it and found he valve was bad. so i did then he told me to replace the compressure and ask for the specs of required amount of oil. If there was oil in the system already is it hydro locking the compressure.

As you have already been told. This isn't for you. Let an AC specialty shop fix it.
