Today I put in a ac pump in my 1993 Honda Civic DX and thanks Honda for making it so easy. not. Just to put the belt in you have to take off a motor mount. So I get the thing in and hooked up and ready to charge with one of those cans bought at an auto store. the instructions said for empty system fill with half the can. I know Honda don't take much to fill any thing so I put about a quarter in there and started the car. The ac pump would not engage and I tested with a tester light and got nothing. I used a jumper wire from the pump to the positive battery post and the pump kicked right in. Any thoughts on why the circuitry isn't working and I checked fuses.

IMO you are over your head. Read top locked post here. Takes years to know how to do this crap and you may have just spent more in waste than a real fix. CANS FROM A PLACE WILL RUIN THE WHOLE SYSTEM IN SHORT ORDER. Pure products or give it up,

So I should just take it into a shop? I was thinking that but I wanted to put in the pump myself and save some money. If I would have took it to a shop and they told me they had to remove a motor mount to get the belt on I would have flipped and said they ripped me off. But I guess I should leave the charging to the pros because I don't know any thing about it. I can tighten bolts thought.

You may have wrecked the new compressor already. No harm intended but this is not very good DIY stuff. Open to air PAG oils which this has become acidic and destroy the whole system. Mega thousands (wasted) to save a buck. Wrong thing if you don't know what you are doing - exactly with right equipment and know how,
