2003 mercury grand marquis

i have a 2003 mercury grand marquis. my ac compressor was making noise so i had it replaced and put in a new dryer and orifice tube, i found pieces of metal on the orifice tube when i removed it. i flushed the system evacuated and recharges the system, i now find that the temp goes up and down and when its hot out the temp is goes from 44 to 58 and then i drive it goes down. any thoughts as to why this is happening? the pressures are low side around 40 and high side about 225. i also noticed that sometimes the evaporator freezes and when it thaws it drips out of the drain.. thanks for any help

You should have also replaced the condenser and completely flushed the rest of the system. You also need to look at the cooling fan operation for a cause of the original failure.

I'm hoping you weren't foolish enough to use a reman compressor on this.

i replaced the condenser and used a new compressor i would not use a rebuilt. i was thinking since i have a electronic fan and not the old style fan that might be the problem but not sure. the fan does run all the time and i have a oil cooler behind the radiator and then the condenser

Where does that say anything about a condenser?

Those pressures aren't conducive to a freezing evaporator.
