ac makes a wierd noise when i turn off my van

 I have a 2003 Ford E250 and the ac works great and all but when i turn the van off the ac compressor makes a wierd noise. i have gotten out to see what it was and couldnt figurew it out, so had a buddy come over and looked at it again and when i was looking at the compressor when it was running and he turned the van off the noise came from the compressor and what i saw was that the compressor spun the oppisite way when he turned the vehicle off. Can you please help me with this problem thanks and appreciate any help or info.

Hmmm? When shut down the pressures will equalize and can make noise in doing so. I don't recall one actually turning a compressor in reverse but obviously this one does. Could be wrong but if this cools properly and quietly in operation and just a quick thing upon shut down there probably isn't anything to do??
