all of the sudden my ac started smelling a little like manure and it now gets muggy after a little while. I checked the pressure and it is running at 125psi how do I drop the pressure? This is for a 1998 Nissan Quest

125 PSI where? Is that the low side or the high side.

See if the compressor is even engaged. We also need a high side reading along with the low side at the same time to conclude anything.

I have a gage that I bought from the auto store and it only fites on one of the pressure valves and I am not knowledgeable enough to even know if that is high or low. It is in the middle of a line the other valve is sticking up all by itself.

You just wasting you time with that gauge. You need a good professional set of gauges if you expect to accomplish anything. It sounds like your compressor may not even be running but unless you can find someone that can tell, your not going to get too far.

Exactly! Throw out the toy gauge for real ones if you want to do this at all. If 125 psi was seen it was probably just a static pressure meaning little by itself,
